This website belongs to Roseth Investment PBC, trading as Eland Sanctuary B&B and Conference Venue, 521 Medium Way, Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. We respect your privacy, and happily, this is a short notice — because this website collects and stores almost nothing.
What this website does with your information
- No accounts, no advertising, no selling of data. The only visitor measurement we use is Google Analytics (see below); we run no other tracking.
- The booking enquiry form stores nothing. When you press "Send enquiry via WhatsApp", your details are composed into a WhatsApp message on your own device. Nothing is sent to or saved by this website. We only receive your enquiry if you choose to send that message in WhatsApp.
- Weather caching. The live forecast is briefly cached in your own browser (sessionStorage, about 30 minutes) purely to avoid re-downloading it. It contains only weather data, nothing about you.
Third-party services this site uses
Like most websites, some content is loaded from third parties when the page opens. Your browser shares your IP address with these providers as part of any normal web request:
- Google Analytics — helps us understand how the site is used (pages visited, device type, approximate region) so we can improve it. It sets cookies in your browser and shares usage statistics with Google, governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — serves the site's typefaces.
- Google Maps — the embedded map in our Contact section; Google may set its own cookies inside the map frame, governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Open-Meteo — provides the live weather forecast for our location; the request contains our coordinates, not yours.
WhatsApp and phone enquiries
If you contact us on WhatsApp (+263 77 325 0805) or by phone, we receive the details you share — typically your name, travel dates and party size. We use them only to answer your enquiry and manage your booking, and we do not share them with anyone else or use them for marketing without asking you first. WhatsApp itself is operated by Meta under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under Zimbabwe's Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07], you may ask us what personal information we hold about you (for guests, this is normally just our WhatsApp or phone correspondence and guest records), and ask us to correct or delete it.
